Benefits of Employee Motivation
Benefits of Employee Motivation
Global business environment is fast changing and the organizations which are adaptable to the change are the one going to survive. Organizations need to frame strategies in order to endure the challenging competition, and the one which are able to survive will be able to sustain longer than others. One of the greatest challenges organizations face today is how to manage turnover of work force that may because by migration of a lot of industrial workers. This may be because of their lack of Motivation and commitment for the organization; this point of view emphasizes the importance of the study of Motivation and its relationship to Job Satisfaction (Prof. S. K. Singh & Vivek Tiwari, 2011).
1. Positive work culture - Motivation is an important factor which brings employees satisfaction. This can be done by keeping into mind and framing an incentive plan for the benefit of the employees. This could initiate the following things (Faisal, 2017).
• Monetary and non-monetary incentives
• Promotion opportunities for employees
• Disincentives for inefficient employees
2. Higher Productivity - Motivated employees highly productive and force other to work harder. Therefore, it is important to organization to implement different motivation factors to improve productivity (Dugguh, 2014). Employee’s qualification or capability cannot measure their performance. Only desire for work has to be implement which help in improving level of performance, increase productivity and reduce the cost of operation. This will improve the efficiency of employees (Adi, 2000).
Giving a period of leave for study, travel or sickness called sabbatical and it create loyalty and trust between employee and organization (Carr and Tang, 2005). Properly plan sabbatical reinforce the employees, making them more motivated as a result, organization can increase the productivity (Bradford, 2001).
3. Greater Innovation - Skilled and efficiency of employees and their experience, qualification are asset to any organization this implies reputation and goodwill of organization (Rothberg, 2005). Salespeople demonstrate different tricks when dealing with customers and their effort measure the performance. Only motivated salespeople can change sales behavior according to situation as a result, salespeople can improve conversion ratio and increase the sales (Weitz, Sujan and Sujan, 1986).
4. Lower Employee turnover - Stability of workforce is very important from the point of view of reputation and goodwill of a concern. The employees can remain loyal to the enterprise only when they have a feeling of participation in the management. The skills and efficiency of employees will always be of advantage to employees as well as employees (Faisal 2017). This will lead to a good public image in the market which will attract competent and qualified people into a concern. As it is said, “Old is gold” which suffices with the role of motivation here, the older the people, more the experience and their adjustment into a concern which can be of benefit to the enterprise (Faisal 2017).
Example - The company I’m currently working have done several exceptional things to motivate their staff members. Such as, in 2019 company have given Income support to all the staff members in order to survive with Covid-19 and with that motivation company have achieved 22% in the profit margin in that year, when all the other companies in the same industry was in loss.

Hi Hashini, agree with your post. To have highly motivated and committed employees could be considers as a rewords and an asset in order to achieve high productivity. (Denton, 1987).
ReplyDeleteHi Nilushi, Agreed. Employee motivation also will benefit the organization in the manner of retention. Recruitment and training is an expensive process in the enterprise A company that retains skilled employees and minimizes turnover will reduce this expense and increase its profits. The best way is to create a corporate culture and cultivate proactive employees. Businesses have a good reputation in good or bad places. If you manage to gain the reputation of the former, you will have a constant stream of people who want to work for the organization, and those who are working now will hesitate to leave. These factors will contribute to the development of a stable and productive corporate culture(McKee, 2018).
DeleteHello Hashini, Motivation plays a major role in retaining organization's best employees in it. When people perceive an imbalance in their outcome-input ratio relative to others, tension is created. This tension provides the basis for motivation, as people strive for what they perceive as equity and fairness (Robbins, 1993)
ReplyDeleteThanks Muditha for the comments. Adding further, Motivation is considered a key driver of performance because it is linked to numerous benefits at work (Pinder 2008).
DeleteHi Hashini. Another factor that contributes to employee motivation is public recognition. To create outstanding work, many employees require acknowledgment from their bosses. Employee recognition and incentive programs identify employees who excel at their employment ( Ganta, 2014).

DeleteHi Hashini , I concur with you , Other benefits of motivation, according to Varma (2018), include optimal resource use, the ability of an organization to handle obstacles, and the creation of a performance-oriented company. As a result, it is critical to have a motivated workforce in order to achieve the company's and employees' long-term objectives.
ReplyDeleteFurther motivation is critical in influencing employee performance, which in turn influences organizational performance (Risambessy et al 2012).
Hi Hashini, I agree with the contents of this post. I would like to add few more things to it. The present work is to understand the strategic importance of the non-financial motivation in the management process, being well known the fact that the performance obtained at the level of organization as well as its prestige crucially depend upon the quality of human resource motivation (Achim, Dragolea and Balan, 2013).
